REALISM – THE WAY FORWARD

I hear people complain about life and how unfair it has been to them and in response, I tell them to keep calm because all is not lost. Although one is always on the safe side when they view life from a realist point of view, it does not cost you anything when your mind creates an illusion that all is well. Not before you realize that your team is losing when you turn to the rest of the alphabet for alternatives – This happens when Plan A fails.
My cronies always view me as a perfectionist but I always turn them down by exposing my weaknesses (unintentionally) which helps them understand that I’m also human. All said and done, to my readers – I am positive and I have a story to tell.
Recently, I witnessed our institution being swept away by the election mood and a lot which I always held to the national scene happened at my door step. The political temperatures were all heated up and a “state of emergency” had been imposed by one of the aspirants contesting for the top seat in the varsity. Not until the noble–minded comrades realized that the premier was receiving the full attention of the Vice Chancellor that they decided to lead the way to reform. The electorate had decided that it’s change they want and not the usual gospel of empty rhetorics. Enough was enough. The people had decided. You should not at any time wish for the masses to be against you – You will die.
I have always wondered why people have to scramble for the elective positions in our country and I now know the reason behind all these killings of a people who have decided.

 Fair Trial

“I advocate for the freedom of speech in my land but freedom after speech, that I can’t promise.” My friend was the new Idd Amin and he made it known that no one should be against him but again, why should you suffer because of your decision, I mean, everyone has a right to their opinions and they should deal with this hard fact.
I have never at any time seen greed for power from a close range until the incumbent President decided to go for a second term defying the requirements of the ruling constitution. You can imagine the wealth, the status quo and women always on your case. Without all these, you can relate the kind of person’s they will be – Total wrecks.
Wait, did I say that the elections were disrupted? And to the amazement of many, ballot boxes opened and ballot papers scattered on the great Busia –Uganda Highway. Well, this is what happened. Upon realizing that they are losing it all in broad day light, they crafted an escape route with an aim of yielding problem to the people’s choice. In modern day times, we don’t expect people to grab power using Adolf Hitler’s methods. That’s too way ward, I must report.

Turning Point

Dear readers, in a few years time, now to the national scene, the same breed of people will descend to your homesteads on their knees pleading for your support in terms of votes and if you fail to comply, they are capable of doing anything to ensure that your vote does not count. Armed with this kind of information, please reach to as many people as possible and become an agent of change because it all starts with you.
It will not be a walk in the park to wrongly influence an educated and informed mass and by so doing; you will help nurture the type of leadership we read in books. Let us rise to the occasion and help bring sanity to our beloved mother land. Realism is the new doctrine which we ought to adopt as a guideline while facing the ups and downs of life. Be well.
