Particularly, I do meditate once in a while as a way of enjoying an indestructible sense of well being before engaging in any life activity. The probability of succeeding in that life activity after meditating is almost close to 100% as one outlines his goals and evaluates the same goals after setting some standards.
A practical example of meditation in play was during my High school days. Our basketball coach before starting any game, instructed everyone to meditate and think about the value and glory they would like to yield to the school. Funny enough, we bet prolific and magnificent teams which we could never imagine of winning games over them. Since that time, it was no turning back.
Meditation may involve generating an emotional state for the purpose of analyzing that state such as hatred, hunger and to an extent cultivating mental response to various phenomena such as compassion. When one decides to set some governing goals and standards, there is a letterhead in form of a mantra which the person keeps on repeating while closing his eyes. This is aimed at visualizing the goals in real life and looking at how best to internalize them into your system.
Meditation has also its heights in spiritual and religious worlds where each affiliate takes time to visualize and meditate on its clerical teachings. For instance, the Christian meditation is a term which expounds on a form of prayer in which a structured attempt is made to get in touch and deliberately reflect upon the revelations of God. It is a form of deliberately focusing on specific thoughts and reflecting on their meaning in the context of love.
With all these inspirations meditation can bring upon, today being the second week since the inception of a new year, I do challenge you to meditate on what you as an individual can do to transform this world. Nelson Mandela is now an epitome of Justice remembered for his struggled efforts to deliver South Africans from apartheid rule. Let us remember you for the positive change and transformations you will yield.
